Race preview: ‘The fastest mile in the NRV’

Shelli Sayers, director of track and field and cross country at Radford University, believes next month’s Dedmon Dash will be the “fastest mile in the NRV.”

Yep, even faster than Blacksburg’s annual Draper Mile at Steppin Out — a race Sayers, a 1996 Blacksburg High graduate, has run a few times herself.

“We are super excited. This race has been a dream of mine,” she says.

Happening on Radford University’s Homecoming weekend, the event promises to be both festive and fast.
