For years, I talked about it but found reasons not to do it. A road marathon seemed more manageable. Work was busy. But the real reason was self doubt. Fear of the unknown, of failure, of falling on the Appalachian Trail and breaking another bone. Luckily, I didn’t have to tackle it alone.
